Our Story

The Tipsy Cow began as a desire to provide a sweet treat to the customers of the Lilly Pad Hopyard Brewery to help round out their experience at the venue.

Founder of The Tipsy Cow, Lilly Steele, has been baking home made treats since seeing the top of a counter required standing on a chair. Baking and the food industry have been an integral part of her life ever since.

Lilly fell in love with the Lilly Pad years ago when she visited for camping and rock climbing with friends at the glowing recommendation of a previous guest. The reputation of this place was something of magic and relaxation with amazing beer and gorgeous nature abounding! Upon first arrival, the Lilly Pad met these expectations and more!

After years of returning to the Lilly Pad to work in the brewery, campsite and food truck, Lilly decided there was one thing missing from this special place. After a day of hiking and rock climbing adventure, a beer and dinner hits the spot, but as everyone knows there is a separate stomach for dessert. Ending the day of activity with a sweet treat like Boozy Ice Cream or a slice of our Burnt Basque Cheesecake would be the perfect addition! So Lilly approached Del and Marte, the owners of the Lilly Pad, with the idea for a dessert trailer, and it was a hit!

So, during the winter of 2021, Lilly went back to St Louis, her hometown, and built out the vintage camper that has become The Tipsy Cow!!! Now, The Tipsy Cow is onsite to serve scrumptious ice cream and confections alongside the Lilly Pad Hopyard Brewery as well as the Sauced Frog!
